What is a travel eSIM?

It adds a mobile plan to a compatible device digitally. The plan determines where you can connect, how much data you have, how long it lasts and whether calls or SMS are included. An eSIM does not automatically include a phone number.

Choose the connection you need.

DualLine separates data plans from plans that explicitly include data, calls and texts. Available options vary by destination.

Standard data

A fixed data allowance for a stated number of days.

Compare allowance, validity, supported networks and price. Carrier calls and SMS are not included in data-only plans.

Unlimited data

A data plan whose usage terms matter as much as its name.

Check the package’s fair-use policy, daily high-speed allowance, speed restrictions and tethering rules. “Unlimited” does not guarantee unlimited full-speed data.

Data, calls & texts

Only where the package explicitly includes voice and SMS.

Read the included minutes, texts, number and permitted calling destinations. This is separate from a DualLine virtual second line; not every country or package offers it.

Popular destinations.

Compare plans, prices per GB and networks for popular travel destinations. Prices are dated and confirmed at checkout.

Four checks before you choose.

Device
Your exact device model and sales region must support eSIM. Check that it is unlocked for the network you want to use.
Destination
Choose country, regional or global coverage in DualLine and read the package’s actual list of supported destinations. A “global” label does not mean every country.
Validity
Check when the validity period starts. Some plans start on installation; others start after connecting to a supported network.
Total price
Review the selected package and total payment amount at checkout before confirming.

Will it work on my phone?

Many iPhones and Android phones support eSIM, but model, region, software and carrier lock matter. Check the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model. An in-app compatibility check is guidance, not a guarantee of network service.

From package to connection.

Choose your plan in DualLine, then follow the installation steps for your phone.

  1. Choose and review

Select the destination and package, then review data, duration, network, activation policy and any included calls or SMS.

  2. Sign in and pay

Buy on the DualLine website after signing in to your account: review the total and choose an available payment method. Your travel eSIM is purchased separately from second-line subscriptions and code credits.

  3. Open installation details

After successful delivery, open the eSIM in DualLine for the available QR code, manual activation details or supported installation link. Keep these details private.

  4. Set your data line

Follow the package-specific instructions in your phone settings. Select the travel eSIM for mobile data and apply its roaming/APN settings where required.

Your connection has a home.

In the app’s eSIM tab, open a delivered eSIM to view installation details, usage and remaining allowances where available. Purchase history is in Account → eSIM purchases. Usage may update with a delay; an unavailable reading is not zero usage.

Top-ups are offered only for eligible profiles and packages. Buying a top-up does not mean every eSIM is reusable, transferable or refundable.

Three products. Different jobs.

Travel eSIM
Mobile data on a compatible phone, with carrier calls and SMS included on eligible plans.
Second line
A dedicated number for personal, non-commercial communication through DualLine. Separate from your travel data plan.
One-time code
A temporary, receive-only number for one verification attempt. Separate from a permanent line or travel eSIM.

Travel eSIM questions, answered.

How do I choose a travel eSIM plan?

Start with your destination and trip length. Compare data allowance, validity, supported networks and whether you need calls or SMS. Review the final price and installation requirements in DualLine before confirming.

Does every eSIM include calls, SMS and a phone number?

No. Data-only eSIM plans provide mobile data, not carrier voice or SMS. Only packages explicitly labelled with calls and texts include those allowances. Check the package details, supported destinations and number information before paying.

Can I keep my usual number?

On a device that supports the required dual-SIM combination, you can usually keep your main line enabled and choose the travel eSIM for data. Your main carrier may still charge for calls, SMS or roaming. Review both lines’ settings.

Can I use messaging apps on a data-only eSIM?

A data connection can carry internet-based messaging and calling in apps, subject to their terms and local availability. It does not supply carrier SMS or guarantee account registration, bank verification or delivery of one-time codes.

When does the eSIM validity period start?

The package’s activation policy decides. It may start when the eSIM is installed or when it first connects to a supported network. Read that policy before installing, especially before travelling.

How do I install an eSIM on iPhone or Android?

Open the delivered eSIM’s installation details in DualLine and follow the device-specific instructions. Use the QR code, manual details or supported link where available. You may need an internet connection for installation. Do not share the activation code publicly.

Is an unlimited eSIM always full speed?

No. Unlimited plans may have fair-use limits, daily high-speed allowances or reduced speeds after a threshold. Network conditions and tethering rules also vary. The selected package’s terms are the source of truth.

Where can I see remaining data and purchases?

The eSIM tab contains delivered eSIMs and their available usage information. Account → eSIM purchases contains eSIM order history. Usage may update with a delay or be temporarily unavailable.

Can I add more data to the same eSIM?

Only if that eSIM supports top-ups and an eligible package is offered. Check the available options on the eSIM detail screen. Some profiles cannot be topped up or reinstalled.

What if installation fails or I need a refund?

Contact DualLine support with the order reference, device model and a description of the issue. Do not send passwords or full card details. Refund eligibility depends on the issue, package terms and applicable rights; usage alone does not determine every case.

Prepare for your journey.
