Read what “unlimited” means for this plan
Compare the actual usage terms rather than the label alone. A package may define fair-use conditions, high-speed allowance or reduced speeds under stated circumstances.
Check validity and covered destinations alongside those conditions. A large allowance is useful only while the plan is valid and has the required connection where you are.
Unlimited plans by destination: the numbers
139 of 199 destinations have unlimited data plans, from $6.84.
In 133 destinations, unlimited plans include 3 GB of high-speed data per day; after that, speed is reduced to 1 Mbps.
Some unlimited plans state their fair-use terms only in the plan details at checkout; the table counts them separately. A destination can have plans in more than one row.
| High-speed data per day | Speed after the allowance | Destinations |
|---|---|---|
| 3 GB | 1 Mbps | 133 |
| 5 GB | 1 Mbps | 4 |
| 2 GB | 1 Mbps | 1 |
| 3 GB | Not stated | 1 |
| In the plan details at checkout | — | 1 |
Check sharing before you rely on it
Read the selected eSIM package's tethering conditions. Phone support does not establish that every package permits the same hotspot use.
Include the connected device's activity, such as video, software updates and cloud synchronization. Its consumption can be larger than the phone tasks you first estimated.
| Item | Question |
|---|---|
| Fair use | What conditions apply to data use? |
| High-speed data | Is a high-speed allowance or time window stated? |
| Speed reduction | When and how can speed change? |
| Hotspot | Is tethering included and are separate limits stated? |
| Validity | When does the package begin and end? |
Share on iPhone or Android
First select the mobile data line you intend to share. On iPhone, use Personal Hotspot in Settings or its cellular settings and the join option. On Android, use the phone's hotspot/tethering controls.
Connect the other device to the phone's hotspot using the phone's own settings. Keep the connection protected with an appropriate password and turn sharing off when you have finished.
Watch usage without treating it as instant
Check the eSIM order's allowance and last update where available. Provider-reported readings can be delayed, so compare them with your phone and connected-device use.
An unavailable reading is not proof of zero consumption. Check large downloads in progress and adjust the way you use data when allowance matters.
If sharing does not work
Check that internet works on the phone over the intended data line first. Then check package tethering rules, the phone's sharing settings and the connected device.
For the eSIM's own connection issue, follow the installation/network/data checklist. Keep the installed profile while investigating rather than removing it as a first step.
Your take-away checklist
- Read the full unlimited/fair-use terms.
- Check speed conditions and validity.
- Confirm hotspot support for the package.
- Select the intended mobile data line.
- Include connected-device usage.
- Review remaining data and update time.
Common questions
Does unlimited mean unlimited full-speed data?
Use the actual package terms for high-speed allowances, fair use and speed conditions. The name alone does not establish unlimited full-speed service.
Can I share a travel eSIM with a laptop?
Check the selected package's tethering rules and the phone's sharing support, then use the intended data line.
Does laptop use consume data?
The connected device uses the shared connection. Include its activity in the allowance estimate and read any separate hotspot conditions.
Why is hotspot unavailable?
Check phone settings, working mobile data and the selected package's tethering support.
Should I delete the eSIM when sharing fails?
Keep the profile and first identify whether the issue is mobile data, sharing settings or package conditions.
