Keep your usual number. Make room for a second one.

Explore short-term second-number needs, personal privacy, separate conversations, country choices and what happens when a subscription ends.

I need a second number briefly. Can I keep my main one?

A separate app-managed number can give you another personal contact point without replacing your existing carrier number. DualLine second lines use subscriptions; a short personal need does not imply an hourly rental or automatic cancellation. Compare the offered billing period and cancellation conditions before choosing.

Will my current carrier contract change?

A DualLine second-line purchase does not itself move or cancel your existing carrier number. Your carrier plan remains a separate arrangement.

What should I do when the short need ends?

Review your subscription in the relevant store and cancel renewal when appropriate. Deleting the app is not subscription cancellation.

How can I contact someone new without sharing my everyday number?

For personal, non-commercial conversations, a dedicated second number can separate a new contact from your everyday number. Check whether the selected line supports the communication you need. The other person sees the DualLine number when the supported conversation uses that line; this is separation, not a promise of anonymity.

Should I use a code number instead?

No. A one-time-code number is for a receive-only verification attempt, not an ongoing personal conversation.

Can I use it as a sales or customer-support line?

DualLine second lines are for personal, non-commercial communication. Business-agent, promotional, bulk and automated messaging are outside this use.

How do I keep different personal conversations apart?

Start with the boundary you want: which people should use your main number and which should use the second one? A dedicated line gives the second group a distinct number and app conversation history. Before sending, confirm the selected line; a second number is useful only if you consistently use the intended identity.

Do I need two phones?

A second app-managed line is intended to be managed on your phone. It is different from adding a second physical handset or carrier SIM.

Can I add several second lines?

Available line count depends on account entitlement and current availability. Check what the app offers instead of assuming an unlimited number.

I need a number from another country. What should I compare?

Compare more than the country prefix. Look at number availability, SMS and calling capabilities, permitted personal use and the receiving service’s acceptance. A foreign number does not provide residency, a physical address or automatic account eligibility in that country.

Does a US number guarantee verification?

No. The receiving service can reject a number or attempt. Country alone is not proof of compatibility.

Is a regional eSIM the same thing?

No. Regional eSIM coverage describes where a mobile package works. It does not automatically supply a second number from each covered country.

What happens to my second number when I stop paying?

Read the current number-retention and cancellation terms before using a line for anything you need long term. A conditional recovery window is not permanent ownership and may have provider exceptions. Plan the transition of important contacts before ending the subscription, and keep independent account-recovery methods.

Does deleting the app release or cancel everything?

No. Review subscription cancellation, number release and account deletion as separate actions with separate consequences.

Can I always get the same number back?

Do not assume that. Recovery depends on the current terms, timing and availability. Contact support about the particular line.
