Does your device support eSIM?

A model name alone is not enough. The country of purchase, exact model and carrier lock affect eSIM availability.

Check before you buy

  1. Find your exact model and model number in Settings.
  2. Check for an “Add eSIM” option under Cellular, Mobile network or SIM manager. Menu names vary by device.
  3. Confirm that your device allows eSIMs from other carriers. On iPhone, check Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock.
  4. If your model or regional variant is unclear, confirm with the manufacturer or your carrier before purchasing.

An EID identifies eSIM hardware; its presence alone does not establish that the device is unlocked or that every plan will work.

Device families and exceptions

Use this guide as a starting point, not a definitive or exhaustive compatibility list for every regional variant.

Apple iPhone

iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and later eSIM-capable models. Model exceptions apply in China mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. Check your purchase region in Apple’s guide. Apple

Google Pixel

Pixel 4 and later support eSIM. Pixel 3 and 3a have purchase-country and carrier exceptions. Pixel 2 support is limited to devices purchased with Google Fi; do not treat this as general travel eSIM compatibility. Google

Samsung Galaxy

Support depends on the exact Galaxy model and regional variant. Check for Add eSIM in SIM manager and verify your model on Samsung’s support page for your region. Samsung

Other Android devices and tablets

Models within the same Motorola, Xiaomi, Sony, Oppo, Honor or other product family may differ. Verify eSIM support and carrier restrictions in the manufacturer’s specifications for your exact model. Phone support does not imply tablet support.
